So What Now for BCS?

Championship for McCarron?

Well I just saw Jordan Williamson nail the game-winning field goal against the second-ranked Oregon Ducks. And, before that I watched Kansas State get murdered by unranked Baylor by four touchdowns. So what does this mean for the whole BCS?

When Johnny Football and the Aggies stunned Alabama it seemed that the SEC won't get yet another crown as the Crimson Tide fell to Number 4 in the polls. But, this weekend everything changed. Kansas State and Oregon lost which means Notre Dame will almost definitely move to Number One, while Alabama likely to second. Georgia will be in the mix as well as they will probably move up to number three. Then, the SEC has Florida and LSU, while K-State and Oregon will still be in BCS bowls at least.

Next weekend: The newly crowned number one hopes to do what K-State nor 'Bama could; win at that spot. It won't be easy as the USC Trojans come to challenge Manti Te'o and the undefeated Irish. The Trojans have struggled mightily and played terrible against UCLA. Though, until Matt Barkley(if he is ready to go) is off the roster USC will have a legit chance of defeating these Irish.

Alabama gets an appetizer for the SEC championship game in the Iron Bowl against an atrocious Auburn team. They might not even need to play A.J. McCarron as this one should be done before halftime. The Tide should be looking ahead to a big showdown against Georgia.

The Bulldogs benefit just as much as Alabama with the upsets. They play an intense rival in Georgia Tech who hasn't had the season they imagined with Tevin Washington returning. If the defense holds up the Bulldogs should role into the SEC championship game 11-1. Though hopefully they play better than they did against LSU last year.

What will happen: Notre Dame wins comfortably against the Trojans thanks to a more confident Everett Golson. Alabama and Georgia square off in a game that decides who plays Notre Dame. Alabama uses their superior pyschicality to run the ball over an inconsistent Georgia defense and their defense holds Georgia to under 20.

Defensive Comparison: Both of these teams have explosive and high-scoring offenses so it shouldn't come down to a defensive struggle. Though both defenses are better than given credit for. Auburn has huge defensive tackle Nick Fairley who will have to contain both Thomas and James. Josh Bynes, a linebacker in the middle can shut down opposing teams with his constant rushing ability and tackling in the open field. Oregon has play maker Kenny Rowe on the line and Casey Matthews in the middle. Casey is a hard-hitter and is brother to Clay Matthews. Just like Auburn the Ducks don't have a lot of difference makers in the secondary other than John Boyett.

Overlook: It will be a shootout for number one. Led by Cam Newton who also had over 1,000 yards running can beat you with his arm or legs. Freshman Michael Dyer is a decent runner who is also a force on special teams. Emory Blake and Travis Zachary are Newton's main options. For Oregon they have a high-powered offense led by quarterback Darron Thomas and Nate Costa(75.8 completion percentage in 33 throws). LaMichael James is a speedy runner who can also shed tackles. Jeff Maehl is a downfield option for Thomas. The problem for Oregon will be tackling Cam Newton. Last season, the same defense was destroyed by Terrelle Pryor in the Rose Bowl.

My Early BCS Solution

It's been another crazy year. Their have been few teams that have stayed consistently at the top. Auburn is ranked number one because of their wins over Arkansas and LSU, both impressive. They play Alabama later this year, who is still in the title talks but must win this game. And I think they will which pushes the Tigers out. Whoever wins this weekend between TCU and Utah will help a little bit. But both don't have great resumes. If TCU does end up winning though they could sneak in. Oregon doesn't have alot to worry about to end the season except for Arizona which I think they can win. That probably puts them in. Don't count Boise State out. They beat Oregon State more impressively than TCU, beat Virginia Tech who is rolling and I think they can win over Hawaii and Nevada, their two biggest challenges to end the season. Nobody else looks like they can challenge. Utah maybe but Ohio State lost, same goes for Michigan State, and I just don't see Missouri or Oklahoma getting in. Basically I have Oregon playing Boise in the BCS Championship Game.

BCS National Championship

Texas inched by Nebraska in the Big 12 championship well Alabama played great on their way past No.1 Florida. Now the two teams will face off. Alabama running back Mark Ingram and Greg McElroy will lead the offense. On defense, big tackle Terrence Cody is dominant well linebacker Rolando McClain is just as good. On speacial teams, Javier Arenas (right) is very skilled.
The 'Horns are led by the passing combo of Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley. On defense, talented end Sergio Kindle and defensive back Earl Thomas. The speacial teams is decent. All and all the Crimson Tide are the better team. Score:Alabama,38 Texas,28.

BCS:Is Anyone of the Undefeateds Going Down

This week, a few undefeated will be tested. Some notable games are: Florida takes on Florida State, Texas plays Texas A&M and in an interesting matchup Boise State attacks Nevada. This one has the possibility to go down as an upset. Nevada's rushing game is one of the most explosive well Boise State lacks explosiveness for someone other than Kellen Moore.

College Football Week Ahead

This week will definitely be interesting in collge football. With the season winding down teams will try to make final impressions. No. 4 TCU trys to make a BCS impression with a win over No. 16 Utah, No. 10 Iowa trys to recover from their loss to Northwestern with a win over No. 11 Ohio State. Of course then people will be talking about Iowa in the BCS race. This week will be big for not just the BSC hopefuls it may make people scream even more for a playoff.
