College Football Preview: 13. Wisconsin Badgers

13. Wisconsin Badgers
RB Montee Ball- Junior
RB James White- Sophomore
WR Nick Toon- Senior
LB Mike Taylor- Junior
LB Chris Borland- Junior
CB Antonio Fenelus- Senior
S Aaron Henry- Senior
It was definitely a successful year for the Badegrs of Wisconsin. They will return backs Montee Ball and James White two speedy guys. They do lose power runner John Clay but the talent from Ball and White is fine. They also lose underrated quarterback Scott Tolzien and must now cope with sophomore James Budmayr. Budmayr options are more limited and Tolzien's were never great either. Senior Nick Toon is the best wide receiver in Madison. He has soft hands and has decent speed. Sophomore Kraig Appleton is his other player. Tight end Jake Byrne is experienced and smart. The offensive line took some big hits now without John Moffit and Gabe Carimi. They still have junior center Peter Konz and guard Kevin Zeitler. On defense the line lost their best player in J.J. Watt. They still return three starters including senior Louis Nzegwu. The linebacker core is very talented despite losing Blake Sorensen. Junior Mike Taylor is a beast in the middle and despite being the number two guy Chris Borland can make stops. Senior outside 'backer Kevin Claxton is the best non-returning starter. The secondary is good even without underappreciated safety Jay Valai. Cornerback senior Antonio Fenelus is the best defender and safety senior Aaron Henry is fantastic. Junior Shelton Johnson is also a great player that follows Henry. The special teams is special thanks to kicker Phillip Welch and punter Brad Nortman.

Heisman Hopeful: James White

College Football Preview: 12. TCU Horned Frogs

12.TCU Horned Frogs
Key Position Players:
QB Casey Pachall- Sophomore
RB Ed Wesley- Junior
DE Stansly Maponga- Sophomore
LB Tank Carder- Senior
LB Tanner Brock- Junior
Let's face it: this is TCU. No matter what conference they're in or no matter who's on the team they win games. This year will be no different. They do lose star QB Andy Dalton but it appears sophomore Casey Pachall will replace him. Or Gary Patterson could go with more experienced junior Yogi Gallegos. Ed Wesley is the best player on the offense. He has some speed and power. Behind him Matthew Tucker and Waymon James cna run all over if given the chance. The wide outs are led by returning player Josh Boyce. They'll have to cope without Jeremy Kerley and Jimmy Young. TE Logan Brock is an okay option for Pachall. The offensive line took a big hit when tackle Marcus Cannon and center Jake Kirkpatrick left for the NFL. Jeff Olson and Kyle Dooley are the lone returners on the O-Line. The defense is still the Horned Frogs' strength. Defensive end Stansly Maponga erupted in his freshmen year and is much underrated. Though the other three linemen aren't great. The linebacker core is fantastic. Tank Carder had a hige year and a good Rose Bowl and returns. He's a hard hitter that can stuff up rushing lanes. He'll be helped by junior Tanner Brock who may be just as good. Brock's big too, and has decent speed for a 'backer. The secondary isn't great now without Tejay Johnson and other players. Cornerback Greg McCoy and safety Tekerrein Cuba are the lone returning starters. Without Kerley the special teams is just decent.

Heisman Hopeful: Ed Wesley
Mountain West Rank: 2nd

College Football Preview: 11. Florida State Seminoles

11. Florida State Seminoles
Key Position Players:
TB Jermaine Thomas- Senior
WR Bert Reed- Senior
OT Andrew Datko- Senior
DE Brandon Jenkins- Junior
LB Nigel Bradham- Senior
CB Xavier Rhodes- Sophomore
Who says you need a quarterback to win? The Seminoles certainly don't. They'll miss Christian Ponder surely and now will need production from junior E.J. Manuel. The backfield has some talent with backs Lonnie Pryor and senior Jermaine Thomas. Wide out Bert Reed is the offensive star for Florida State. He'll help Manuel develop. Slowly perhaps but surely. The O-Line took a hit when guard Rodney Hudson left for the NFL. Tackle Andrew Datko can shut down pass rushers and Bryan Stork will have to replace Hudson. Jimbo Fisher's defense has a lot of underrated talent. Defensive ends Brandon Jenkins and Bjoern Werner will make moves on the outside. In the middle Anthony McCloud stuffs up running lanes. The middle took a big hit without Mister Alexander and Kendall Smith. Though the 'Noles still have Nigel Bradham. Others must fill in the empty spots. The secondary may be the best part on the team. Cornerback Greg Reid may not be great at his position but he's a beast at special teams. The other side of secondary Xavier Rhodes won an All-ACC Selection as a freshmen last year in '10. Safety Nick Moody is a great player. The special teams is well too thanks to kicker Dustin Hopkins and punter Shawn Powell.

Heisman Hopeful: Jermaine Thomas
ACC Rank: 1st

College Football Preview: 10. Oklahoma State Cowboys

10. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Key Position Players:
QB Brandon Weeden- Senior
WR Justin Blackmon- Junior
OT Levy Adcock- Senior
LB James Thomas- Senior
S Markelle Martin- Senior
The 'Boys of Oklahoma State surprised many when unproven quarterback Brandon Weeden and wide receiver Justin Blackmon formed a lethal combo and beat up opponents. Both of the pair are back and ready for action. Though the Cowboys did suffer some losses. Back Kendall Hunter is gone and the defense lost five starters. Without Hunter the preferred running back will likely be Jeremy Smith. Sophomore Joseph Randle will also get snaps. Blackmon is definitely Weeden's number one option but he has other guys to pass too. Junior Tracy Moore and senior Colton Chelf have a lot of talent. The offense line for the Cowboys is decent. Tackle Levy Adcock is the best protector on the team. Nick Martinez leads the other side and up the middle center Grant Garner are good. The defense lost players but still have six returning men. The defensive line took the biggest hit with just one big guy returning in Jamie Blatnick. Richetti Jones waits in the wings and will be ready anytime. Linebacker James Thomas is the best returning player at his position. The last line of defense has had talent over the years and has the same in 2011. Safety Markelle Martin is the best player in the secondary. Junior Brodrick Brown makes plays and safety Johnny Thomas shouldn't be overlooked either. Punter Quinn Sharp is exceptional.

Heisman Hopeful: Brandon Weeden
Big 12 Rank: 3rd

33. Detroit Pistons- Nolan Smith, Guard Smith erupted in his senior year and could go earlier. He'll be a steal for the Pistons at 33.
34. Washington Wizards- Jeremy Tyler, Forward The Wiz get a lot of picks. They could go to many here and Tyler would be a nice pick.
35. Sacremento Kings- Kyle Singler, Forward Singler had a huge career at Duke and the Kings need a lot of help. With Singler they have a big shooter who will make a good core with Walker earlier and DeMarcus Cousins.
36. New Jersey Nets- Malcolm Lee, Guard The high-flying Lee gives the Nets a Devin Harris-sort of guy. He's good just doesn't have quite the skills to go any earlier.
37. Los Angeles Clippers- Jon Leuer, Forward The guy from Wisconsin has a good shot for a power forward and has the smarts. Could be the next Elton Brand.
38. Houston Rockets- Norris Cole, Guard From Cleveland State the guard Cole has the talent. He could be a savior of the Houston organization. Or, he could be a bust.
39. Charlotte Bobcats- Cory Joseph, Guard The guy from down south knows how to run an offense. He still needs to work on things, though.
40. Milwaukee Bucks- Willie Reed, Forward Reed matches the Bucks mentality: a blue-collar guy who isn't flashy but plays hard until the final whistle blows. The Bucks like him at this slot.

College Football Preview: 9. Michigan State Spartans

9. Michigan State Spartans
Key Position Players:
QB Kirk Cousins- Senior
RB Edwin Baker- Junior
WR B.J. Cunningham- Senior
CB Johnny Adams- Junior
S Trenton Robinson- Senior
K Dan Conroy- Junior
Michigan State surprised the Big Ten last year when they exploded. The Spartans are loaded almost everywhere. At quarterback they have Kirk Cousins. Cousins isn't showy but he gets the work done and plays smart. He has a great backfield behind him thanks to junior back Edwin Baker and electric sophomore Le'Veon Bell. The options for Cousins are more limited with the loss of Mark Dell and tight end Charlie Gantt. But, he still has senior B.J. Cunningham and Keith Nichol to throw too. The offensive line took some hits but will protect Cousins all the same. Guards Joel Foreman and Chris McDonald lead the line. They're part of the reason why Baker and Bell had so much success in 2010. The Spartans defense lost their best player in linebacker Greg Jones. But, they still have so much talent on the "D". Defensive end Tyler Hoover has some skill and nose tackle Kevin Pickelman. Without Jones the linebacker core only has one returning starter in junior Chris Norman. The secondary has much talent with corner back Johnny Adams. Safety Trenton Robinson is a ball hawk who makes plays. Kicker Dan Conroy is unheard of but special teams is very important to Michigan State.

Heisman Hopeful: Edwin Baker
Big Ten: 2nd

8. Texas A&M Aggies
Key Position Players:
QB Ryan Tannehill- Senior
RB Cyrus Gray- Senior
WR Jeff Fuller- Senior
CB Coryell Judie- Senior
S Trent Hunter- Senior
The Aggies went on a tear last year thanks to the sudden becoming of Ryan Tannehill. Star Jerrod Johnson went down and then Tannehill filled in and became a the star. Now with Tannehill Jeff Fuller will even become better. Fuller's got great hands and has a big frame. He's flanked by junior Uzoma Nwachuku both great options for Tannehill. Cyrus Gray is the man of the backfield. He can run over you or he has some speed. The backfield is also helped by juniors Christine Michael and Bradley Stephens. Tight end Nehemiah Hicks returns from his freshmen year with a whole lot of skill. The offensive line is good, thanks to guards Brian Thomas and Patrick Lewis. The defense is good even with the loss of linebacker/end Von Miller. Miller isn't flashy but he had skills. Linebacker Michael Hodges was also very good. The defensive line is good with tackle Jonathan Mathis. Even without Miller and Hodges the linebacker postition is great with Garrick Williams and Sean Porter. The secondary is the strongest part of the line. Much of it thanks to cornerback Coryell Judie and safety Trent Hunter. Both are seniors and experienced a lot. The special teams is great thanks to senior kicker Randy Bullock.

Heisman Hopeful: Cyrus Gray
Big 12 Rank: 2nd

NBA Mock Draft: Picks 22-32

22. Denver Nuggets- Jordan Hamilton, Forward/Guard The Nuggets need a small forward now without Carmelo Anthony.

25. Boston Celtics- David Bertans, Forward Bertans' trip over the Atlantic will be to join the Celtics. Could be a European Kevin Garnett.

29. San Antonio Spurs- Justin Harper, Forward The former Spiders star gives the Spurs a true bruiser underneath with Tim Duncan diminishing.

12. Utah Jazz- Klay Thompson, Guard The Jazz get another talent at the guard postion after gaining Brandon Knight at 3 earlier in the draft. Sharpshooting Thompson will help.
13. Phoenix Suns- Bismack Biyombo, Center The Congo star gives the Suns a true bruiser in the lane that they haven't had since Amare Stoudemaire left.
14. Houston Rockets- Markieff Morris, Forward The other Morris star gives the Rockets a new option since Yao Ming's career is pretty much done.
15. Indiana Pacers- Jimmer Fredette, Guard Jimmer helps the Pacers as now they have a compliment with Darren Collison.

1. Cleveland Cavaliers- Kyrie Irving, Guard The Cavs need help at every postition. Irving gives them an immediate playmaker.

3. Utah Jazz- Brandon Knight, Guard College basketball's biggest recruit is being led to Utah who needs a shooting guard now without Ronnie Brewer and Kyle Korver.
4. Cleveland Cavaliers- Jonas Valanciunas, Center The Lithuanian star gives the Cavs a big man to go along with their first pick in Irving.

College Football Preview: 7. Ohio State Buckeyes

7. Ohio State Buckeyes
QB Terrelle Pryor (sus.)- Senior
RB Daniel Herron (sus.)- Senior
WR DeVier Posey (sus.)- Senior
OT Mike Adams (sus.)- Senior
C Mike Brewster- Senior
The Buckeyes stepped in it this time. Due to the tattoo scandal this off season the Buckeyes are left with a bunch of suspended stars including QB Terrelle Pryor and back Daniel Herron. Thank goodness for Ohio State their biggest challenge may be just Miami(Florida). Pryor will miss time so likely senior Jon Bauserman will start at quarterback during his absence. Herron has a great next step and has experience going into his senior season. DeVier Posey, Pryor's number one target is also suspended. But, the two will form a lethal combo when they get back from suspension. The other option will be untested sophomore Corey Brown. The offensive line is one of the better in the Big Ten. Tackle Mike Adams will be out the first six games but they will have center Mike Brewter. Both have experience in their final year. The defense for Ohio State is depleted. They face the Big Ten without Cameron Heyward, Ross Homan and Brian Rolle. Now, the biggest threat on the "D" is defensive tackle John Simon. Simon is a monster who can fit into the lanes. The other returning player on the D-Line is Nathan Williams. Without Rolle and Homan the only returning linebacker is senior Andrew Sweat. The secondary is weak now too with just safety Orhian Johnson. The Buckeyes may look weak but let's face it: the Buckeyes do what the Buckeyes do.

Heisman Hopeful: Terrelle Pryor
Big Ten Rank: 1st

College Football Preview: 6. Stanford Cardinal

6. Stanford Cardinal
Key Position Players
QB Andrew Luck- Junior
RB Stepfan Taylor- Junior
OT Jonathan Martin- Junior
LB Shayne Skov- Junior
S Delano Howell- Senior
There was a big change in Stanford last year. The traditional cupcake went 12-1 in '10. Thanks to the return of all-star prospect Andrew Luck the team looks like they could continue their success. Luck will have to hope that he won't become the next Jake Locker, a top NFL prospect who returned for his senior season and his draft stock fell rapidly. The backfield is just as great. Stepfan Taylor will be asked to be the starter but Stanford may launch a three-man backfield.Junior Tyler Gaffney is a power runner and sophomore Anthony Wilkerson makes plays. Luck's options aren't great. Wide receiver Chris Owusu returns but he still won't be a suitable option. One of the reasons Luck has had success is the talent of the O-Line. Tackle Jonathan Martin may not have even reached the top yet guard David DeCastro is good. Though, other than those two the line is not much. The defense lost a big man in Owen Marecic. Marecic was never a star for the Cardinal but he played both fullback and linebacker. The defense is loaded in the linebacker position and the secondary. Shayne Skov was a big recruit a while back and he hasn't disappointed. The secondary is headed by Delano Howell a talented, hard-hitting senior. He isn't the only playmaker back there- Michael Thomas and Johnson Bademosi are good.

Heisman Hopeful: Andrew Luck
Pac 12 Rank: 2nd

Top NBA Draft Prospects

Derrick Williams, PF, Arizona Williams became a star player for the Wildcats in the little time he was there. He has great power and good size. Williams excelled late in the year on the defensive side of the ball.
Kemba Walker, PG, UConn After declaring for the NBA draft after leading the Huskies to the NCAA title Walker has risen to the top 10. He would be a good pick for Charlotte at 9 or Cleveland at 8. Both need electric game breakers.
Jimmer Fredette, SG, BYU Fredette comes away from one of the best college careers we've ever seen. There are questions: if his sharpshooting game can translate to the NBA? Will his defense improve enough to be a lottery pick? The Jazz lost a good 2 guard in Ronnie Brewer last year and need a replacement. Fredette may be the guy.
Enes Kanter, C, Kentucky* Kanter was a big recruit for John Calipari but NCAA violations ruled him out the whole year last season. He's big and tons of teams could be looking at him (Raptors, Wizards and Jazz).
Kenneth Faried, PF, Morehead State Playing at isolated Morehead State Faried wasn't as big of a name as say Kemba Walker but he still has the talent. He likely won't be a lottetry pick but Charlotte might like him at 19 or Portland at 21.
Kyle Singler, SF, Duke Even with a disappointing season with the Blue Devils Singler will still be a first rounder. He fits better at small forward but he can be put at power forward. The Spurs might like him at 29 or earlier.

College Football Preview: 5. Boise State Broncos

5. Boise State Broncos
Key Position Players
QB Kellen Moore- Senior
RB Doug Martin- Senior
OT Nate Potter- Senior
DT Billy Winn- Senior
DE Shea McClellin- Senior
LB Byron Hout- Senior
Boise will do what they always do. And that is winning. Chris Peterson has his Heisman candidate Kellen Moore back for his last year. Moore's options are more limited this year with the graduation of WR Titus Young and Austin Pettis. The backfield is talented even with losing of Jeremy Avery. They still have Doug Martin and Dan Paul who have power and add some speed. The offensive line will protect Moore thanks to tackle Nate Potter and center Thomas Byrd. As talented as the O-Line is the defensive line might be even better. Ryan Winterswyk will be gone but the end on the other side Shea McClellin is just as good. Billy Winn can rush the QB and stuffs up the run. Other than Moore, he be the most talented returnee for the Broncos. The linebacker core has never been Boise's strong suit. This year Byron Hout and Aaron Tevis lead the middle. The secondary wasn't the same after losing Kyle Wilson last year. It lost some talent but still returns junior Jamar Taylor and senior George Iloka. Again, the Broncos will be at the top but moving to the tougher Mountain West won't help.

Heisman Hopeful: Kellen Moore
Mountain West Rank: 1st
