Speacial Edition:Spring Training Begins:AL East

The 2009 baseball season has begun and I have my MLB preview for the AL East. This is a start of a series of previews for each division:

1.New York Yankees Key Editions:C.C Sabathia, A.J. Burnett...
Alex Roriguez, Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada will lead the Yanks on offense and the additions of pitchers C.C Sabathia and A.J Burnett will strengthen the rotation.
2.Tampa Rays Key Editions:None
The Rays are filled with momentum with Evan Longoria and B.J Upton and trying to prove last season wasn't a fluke will make them work even harder.
3.Boston Red Sox Key Editions:Brad Penny
The Sox don't have Manny Ramirez. But they have David "Big Papai"Ortiz,Jason Bay and Dustin Pedroia. Plus they added Brad Penny to a nice rotation.
4.Baltimore Orieles Key Editions:None
Baltimore has underrated Nick Markakis and Brian Roberts. Don't count the O's out yet.
5.Toronto Blue Jays Key Editions:Kevin Millar
The Jays lost A.J. Burnett and made no major moves except for Kevin Millar.

More Draft

The draft keeps getting closer and I've already posted my Top 11 mock draft. Well I've watched ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and his mock draft's don't include Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry in the Top 5 or Kansas State quarterback Josh Freemen. I know Freemen is probably overrated in my mock draft but Curry was probably the best D player in the nation. Or at least the best linebacker in the nation. Some of you might be wondering who the Minnesota Vikings will get, well I predict them to get to get Ray Maualaga the skilled linebacker out of USC. The Viks fell short on linebackers so they would enjoy grabbing Maualaga.

Interesting...

Tennessee vs. Florida has always been a huge rivalry and now football coach Lane Kiffin renewed it. Kiffin dissed Florida University by saying "It's amazing even when they cheated we still got him(talking about current recruit)." The NCAA reported that Florida did not violate any NCAA recruiting rules and Kiffin publicily apologized to Florida and fans around the nation. That wasn't the start of Kiffin's disapointing report card as a head coach.
The rivalry has been renewed.

Speacial Edition:Brett Favre and Alex Rodriguez

On February 11th,2009 former Green Bay Packer star Brett Favre announced his retirement from pro football. Last year Favre also announced his retirement with the the Pack but later returned to the NFL with the New York Jets. Despite his many records he was a huge letdown down the stretch. That led to his "official" retirement. But after last year's sweepstakes we are left to wonder will he come out of his retirement again? Personally I'm tired of all the discussions about Number 4 on Sportscenter. Plus his image will be definitely stained.

Another news headline: A-Rod(Alex Rodriguez) was charged with using illegel substances through 2001-2003 with the Texas Rangers.A-Rod admitted to using the substances and said "He's very stupid for using the drugs.

NHL:Speacial Edition Blowout

I like college sports. But let's talk Hockey. And let's talk playoffs:

Who I like:Pittsburgh Penguins.Sid the Kid and Evengi Malkin will lead the Pens to big things.Maybe even Stanley Cup material.
Who will make a comeback:Edmonton Oilers. If the Oilers will stick together the Oilers will surprise everyone.
Who will fall:Minnesota Wild. The Wild have no proven leader and that will effect them.
Stanley Cup:Washington Capitals vs. San Jose Sharks.Score:5-2,Sharks.Joe Thornton will score 2 and Patrick Marleau will have 2 points,Alexander Oveuchkin's hot streak will end,but Alexander Semin will score 2.

Trouble in the ACC

The ACC is all mixed up. First Wake Forest got defeated by Virginia Tech, before that UNC got defeated by Boston College, next Wake Forest beat Duke, then Duke fell to Clemson. It's turning in to the Big 12 from college football in 2008.I've told you I like Duke to win the ACC.But can they survive all the upsets? Can Maryland shock anyone? Can Virginia Tech shock somebody again? Who knows. But the ACC is in trouble. With finances. Why?Upsets are fun but to many upsets can get annoying. At least they do to me. But what can the ACC do? It's all up to the players now. Unknowns must step up and more known players must play their heart out.

Do you like upsets?Post a comment about if you don't or if you do.

Speacial Edition:Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps was seen smoking a marijuana pipe at a party in South Carolina this week.Phelps,a role model to many publicly apologized for his actions. But many are left to wonder will this happen on a regular basis?Hopefully not,but it's obvious Phelps image was stained. In 2008 at the Bejing Olympics Phelps set many world records and set a major record by winning 8 gold medals a Olympic record.
Their is an obvious lesson just like Michael Vick's "accident". Just don't do this stuff.

This is a speacial edition post. Speacial edition posts are rare and don't talk about college sports.

NCAA Final Four Predictions

Their are 64 teams that enjoy a realistic chance at winning it all but only four can compete in the most exciting moment in NCAA basketball's tournament(in my opinion). Now I will give you my Final Four predictions.

Duke: Coach K has it all working for him with PF Kyle Singler and solid SG Jon Scheyer. Since Coach K has great tournament experience the Blue Devils will be a Final Four team. Period.

Oklahoma: He's a center,he's an obvious player of the year canidate(he's my player of the year)who is he?Yep,he's Blake Griffin and he's the reason Oklahoma will be a Final Four team.

Uconn: The Huskies have two players. Who?PF Jeff Adrien and massive C Hasheem Thabeet, the Huskies wil scare oppenets out of town. Yes last year they disapointed everyone with early exit. This season will be alot different.

Wake Forest: Sorry UNC Wake will be the final ACC school to get in. Jeff Teague is spectacular in everything and Wake performs well in clutch situations.
