UConn Hands Texas Loss, Duke Stays Alive,


In a premier Big East-Big 12 title, No. 1 Texas tried to come off a loss to No. 9 Kansas State with a win over the down No. 21 UConn. Damion James had 23 points and 7 rebounds but it was UConn who made the upset with a win 88-74. Stanley Robinson and Jerome Dyson combined for 49 points and 15 rebounds in the win. Texas will hope to stay in the Top 10, well UConn hopes to move at least to a Top 20 ranking. Texas gets Texas Tech next well, UConn gets Providence next. For a full box score click here.

Duke had been struggling in the ACC the whole season and things looked like they would not get easier with a game against Clemson. Nolan Smith had 22 and 2 steals as Duke escaped with a 60-47 win. Clemson lost their second straight despite Trevor Booker's 22 points and 7 rebounds. Clemson hopes to get back on track with a game against Boston College and Duke gets Florida State.
