College Football Preview:5.Texas Longhorns

Texas Longhorns Number Five, Key Loss:QB Colt McCoy
Last BCS Championship Colt McCoy went down with an injury against Alabama. In come an unknown backup named Garrett Gilbert who played decent but wasn't enough for the Longhorns to win. This season Texas is hoping Garrett Gilbert is ready to lead the 'Horns. The BCS runner-ups are missing not just Colt McCoy, also strong defensive players in linebacker Sergio Kindle and Earl Thomas. Also gone is wideout Jordan Shipley. Gilbert has an option in Malcolm Williams. Mack Brown has some work to do if he wants to get Texas back to the BCS Championship.

Heisman Hopeful:Garrett Gilbert
Other Notable Players:Malcolm Williams
Key Games:
October 16 vs. Nebraska Quick Pick:No Ndamukong Suh doesn't mean it's going to be easy. Nebraska's D stops Gilbert in his tracks. Nebraska wins.
October 2 vs. Oklahoma Quick Pick:Both teams are having to regroup after two quarterback losses. Gilbert is just better. Texas wins.
